Help Bathroom Tile - Marble Alternative

Hi! We're updating our half bathroom. Love the MSI Bianco Dolomite Geometrica tile but it's marble! Looking for something with a comparable look that is cermaic or porcelain and can withstand multiple kiddos (durable & low maintenance). Any recommendations for something similar? Vanity will be white oak. Thank you!

Not really the same but check out cement tile .They wear like iron and look good This one is from HD just google gray and white cement tile

All the most attractive waterjet designs use natural stone because waterjet time is expensive time. People will pay luxury prices for upscale waterjet cut natural stone, so the return on the outlay is there. Most won’t pay similar luxury prices for waterjet porcelain, which is why is is done less frequently. If you are willing to pay the costs for a one off luxury product, then there are many custom waterjet services available. Yes, it costs more than you think it costs inside your head as you hear ”custom waterjet cut porcelain”. But, if you have a local stone fabricator with a waterjet you might be able to convince them to branch out. It will take a LOT of legwork on your end to act as the designer for that, and properly liase between tile pro, stone pro, and material source. It all has to come together both technically and artistically. And be real world installable.

Wow, that is stunning! I love the shine on the tile, it glows like polished marble or stone. Very, very pretty. I noticed you have a magnifying mirror that extends out from the wall. I want one of those but always wonder about how to place it for the best use. Where does the light come from in this room, is it a ceiling fixture? Is it good at helping highlight stray hairs at the browline? Thanks in advance! -EChic

And I thought I did bad work after drinking a case of beer and not sleeping for three days. While splitting my work hours with one eye on the tiling job and two eyes on the portable TV I brought to work with me so I could watch playoff baseball. All while minding my three toddlers that I had to bring on the job because I forgot where their daycare was located. While blind in one eye. And with my left arm in a cast and my right arm in a sling. While working barefoot. On an empty stomach. Okay. My question to him is "why" does he feel that this is the best that can be done? If it's because he has limited talent, he should have forewarned you. If it is because of limitations with the material, he should have forewarned you. But on the whole, no it is not acceptable. Repairs could alter what you have; losing the "polished finish" for example. Replacement, as has been mentioned, may be the best option.

Your GC is not competent enough to be taking on this project. If he was he would have researched the proper methods prior but instead he argues with you. You are making the choice now to be the GC. I think you are making a big mistake but it's your shower. Best of luck and I hope it all works out for you.

A possibility is to use a white ceramic/porcelain tile that matches the background of the marble on the floor and part way up the shower walls. Then use the marble on the upper shower walls out of the hard-wear zone. It would take some design planning to get the layout looking right, sort of how wainscoting has to be proportioned correctly to not look like a HGTV disaster. :)

Honestly if this is what you like best (it’s absolutely stunnasious!! Love it love it!! ) I might just bite the bullet and go with the marble 🫣 (I just don’t think you’ll get something so close to what you were looking for)
