Track Lighting for Small Room

Have a 9ft x 9ft nook as home office. Looking to install track lighting. What would be the recommendation for the number of lights to put on the track? Ceiling is 9ft.

You could use:
- This calculator to determine the required lumens.
- This calculator to determine the quantity and arrangement the lights (this is actually for recessed lights)
- An eight-foot track plus enough track lighting heads of sufficient brightness to meet the lumen requirements.

I'm not a lighting expert but I'll help bump this along. Are you using the lighting for task or for general illumination? Do you have other lighting in the kitchen (under the cabinet, etc.)? I can't tell what wattage of bulbs go into these fixtures but is your lighting level OK with your old fixture or do you need more light in better locations? Have you considered any other fixtures besides IKEA? There's a lot of track lighting options out there.

Awwww, such a good girl! I think the only reason you'd want to do lamps different from track would be to call attention to the lamp as a decorative feature.
