I'll link a site I saw recently with a lot of online options. I believe learning what the insides are made of will be tough with an online store. Check around your area for custom cabinet makers and get quotes--you may be surprised at the prices and you'll get them to your specifications. I actually found that after I picked my countertop it was great to pick the exact shade of stain for the wood to pick up the right shade of brown in the counter top so it was good for me to order from a kitchen cabinet company. Try a kitchen store to get a semi-custom quote. I just read this on the Kitchen Forum about a cabinet line Aristocratic cabinets: "We have two shops that carry Aristocratic and we loved their displays. The cabinets are rock solid. We did full plywood with all the bells and whistles and they were still cheaper than any others we looked at. I purchased 2 vanities and a linen tower from Kitchenbath.com. I selected a brand that I could see at a local dealer, so I knew exactly what I was getting. The price was excellent, especially since there was no sales tax. Their website is in dire need of a face lift, but if you can ignore that, you should be able to find some nice vanities. I went to Ferguson, Sophie. All but one brand of vanities they carry is imported. And that brand's aesthetic was very "country." Kohler is making their vanities in Kentucky, but they are quite expensive. Please don't think we are lazy...some of us may have explored other options that were outside of our budgets. Looking at your profile, it says your typical project goes up to $100k (or am I missing a few zeros?). That just isn't plausible for some and I'm sure you know this. I buy mostly American made furniture, but even some of the major brands are sending production to Asia. Plenty of companies have High Point showrooms, but are getting their goods off container ships. Since you are a pro, I'm sure you know this as well.

Millworkman, I think I must have read somewhere that you shouldn't use granite on MDF cabinets Patricia Colwell Consulting, the vanity does not come with a top. It was just shown with a top. The Hayneedle website description said it was just the cabinet and it is just the cabinet (arrived this past Friday). Siamesey, I hear ya but since I spent a ton of money converting the tub to shower, I have to save where I can. Unfortunately, when you combine the needs of my mother (the main user of this bathroom), the style that I would like, along with the need to work around the plumbing location, I actually don't have a lot of choices. It's been really hard to combine the first two of those and find a vanity with drawers on the left hand side (the plumbing dictate). I looked at custom made and even semi custom made and no, I can't do that. Even though the vanity is made of MDF and is RTA, to me it has better quality than some of low end all wood vanities that I've seen. Also, most of the cabinets I've looked at still seem to have MDF in them somewhere, especially white cabinets which is what I wanted for this bathroom.
