LR help...I'm afraid to ask opinion but here goes!
Comments (34)I have to say that I am not crazy about the round table in the middle of the chairs. It feels like the arrangement is fighting the shape of the room and the rug. Don't know if this would work, but I would turn the rug to run the other way in the room - long side running parallel to the double windows on the end. Then place the chairs side by side on each of the long sides of the rug - on square, not angled. Tables and good sized lamps between each set of two chairs for drinks, etc. No table in the middle. By keeping the seating toward the left side of the room ( as we look at the last floor plan), it would allow bookshelves to go on the long wall to the right of the window at the top of the floor plan. One other thing, just for grins. If the four chairs are identical in size and design, just different in color, I might try switching out the cushions - light cushions on dark chair frames, and vice versa. I think it will create a sense of greater continuity between all the seating....See Morevelvet sofa color...match or compliment?
Comments (19)Sofa comfort is much more than seat depth. It is support, it is pitch, it is springs, cushioning etc. Depth is just one aspect and I can say for fact a sofa can be very deep..........and a total misery for sitting. It may be okay for a sprawl. Nobody sprawled in the mid century, tv was still in it's infancy. A sofa was 36 inches deep. And many of those re interpreted? Still are. Either way, there will be NO Sven look anywhere at that seat depth. It doesn't really work with the style. Perhaps save tufting for the chairs...........multiple length and 46" depth with 108 length below, Arhaus. Comes as small as "petite, 72 " same depth. Comments (15)^^ I like it! Years ago when I was in school I had two chairs similar to those mid-century type Scandinavian type chairs with the wood frame. I got them at a great price- they were free! I found them in the alley behind my apartment. Can you believe someone had discarded them? When I moved cross country I gave them away. In any event, the back slanted back and they would be uncomfortable now and too hard to get out of too. But boy, were they great, and everyone was wild for them. So, just goes to show, keep your eyes peeled at all times! (Cushions can be easily replaced.) And you know what else, my bookshelves were solid wood planks with attractive cinderblocks in between and they held all my very heavy tomes without warping or cracking which is heck of a lot better than the garbage-y particle board stuff they sell nowadays....See MoreWhat color curtains and curtain rod to use w/rug & black furniture?
Comments (44)I don't know where that rug came from as someone else above had suggested it but I found a few similar ones on Wayfair.com.
