Does anyone have any solutions to avoid the flops? I've tried pruning hard in the spring to keep it short (well tbh some winter breakage helped that decision - lol). I've tried leaving the stems alone for 2-3 years to give them a chance to get strong.
Here's a side view of Tickled Pink. I had some stakes but the heavy blooms (and lotsof rain) took the stakes with it.
All the good stuff is leaning into the spruce. Closeup some stems are almost parallel with the ground.
Here it is 3 weeks ago before I added a few stakes. The problem was starting.
THe first or second year I had it, the blooms reached the window nicely.
Solutions? better/more stakes?
