Ever since joining this forum year and years ago I've read repeatedly not to use self cleaning oven feature due to how hard it is on the electronics of the unit and as a result have avoided it like the plague.

I had NO idea the self cleaning feature could go so very wrong. My friend's oven exploded while in self cleaning mode and this is her house as a result. Thankfully nobody was hurt.
