Nancy, I don't grow this one, but some of them can be pretty stubborn, and it's always even more frustrating when you hear EVERYone else's grows like crazy! LOL!! Since you have a nice-size plant there, I would take a cutting from it. First of all, if you take a cutting, it roots and starts growing, you'll know there's SOME issue with your roots, something you can't see. And if that's the case, I'd then make cuttings of the whole thing. Second, I find that almost all plants throw out growth hormones when pruned. Maybe it just needs a kick-start... The "old-timers" here have heard me say that I learned this valuable lesson many years ago from my first German Shepherd. If you have one, you know how violently they shake that big ol' tail when they're happy. I've had many a plant knocked across the room and broken by the lively tail, and boy did I cuss about that! But after a few times and about a year had passed, it started to dawn on me that the "tail pruned" plants were some of my best looking plants! Hmm... Now don't get me wrong - I don't encourage tail-pruning! But I never hesitate to snip-snip because I know it'll pay off in a few months. Denise in Omaha

Hi Randi, I got H. fitchii in January 2015 (1st pic) and it grew very well outside over the summer producing 2 peduncles. Both peduncles budded up one bloomed the other blasted. The longest vines are 25" & 26" now. Seems easy to grow so far.

Imontestella, don't hesitate to buy from CFM! Almost every plant I've gotten from him, and that's quite a few over the years, have been bigger than expected, and all have been healthy. My hoya Mathilde is the only one I've gotten from him recently that died. But I think it was just too much stress from the shipping in that case, and the plant was still quite young. I had these three plants unpacked in less than 10 minutes, with no mess! They have the packing down to a science. Not so with other sellers! Takes forever to get the tape, etc. off. Yeah, I thought about you guys seeing the banana first, and thinking, "What the heck?" LOL
