I know this is nothing earth shattering but each year when I witness it first hand, I am impressed how leaves emerge from colocasia; coming out vertically down the stem



Btw, I love this variety...Pharoah's Mask. We have it in a container.

    @rouge21_gw (CDN Z5b/6a) Not just annuals, of course. I was always amazed how hollyhocks went from itty bitty plants to behemoths overnight. And the same for hibiscus. I always think maybe my hibiscus isn't coming back this year as it's so late to break dormancy. Then a week later it's already a foot tall.
