Ending the the never ending search, can you help?
Comments (16)I grew up in a 1-story earth home (so no basement) and we currently live in a slab townhome (1500 sq ft). If you don't need the storage/rec space and if the lot you choose is flat, I don't see the need for a basement. Our lot is angled for a side walk-out basement so we're going to have a basement (unfinished for now, possibly forever.) I'm going to try posting my floorplans directly here. Looking at my floorplans and comparing them to your requirements, I think you could make 2500 sq ft work for a 4BR. We have that formal study (I work from home full time) AND the sun room (this will be our piano room)--two spaces it sounds like you wouldn't need. It's basically a modified version of this model home....See MoreNever Ending Battle!!!
Comments (44)Well, I got the closet done. I really did'nt do much. Everything in there is staying. I was able to take out a folding chair that I will just store in the garage with the other one. My husband actually had on the floor covered in a newspaper..get this...a puzzle of "Dogs Playing Poker" that he actually glued together! Yeah, if he EVER thought that he was going to frame that and hang it up somewhere he is dead wrong! Maybe if he had a workshop or something it would be alright but not in the house! Tacky!! He also had an empty box for some computer part he has. Tossed that! I have about 6 roles of wrapping paper standing up in the corner that I need to get a storage bin for and maybe put it under the fulton or something. That will free up alot of room. At least I was able to get the 2 vaccums in there. One is built for hardwoods, the other is for carpet...just in case you were wondering why we have 2! Well at least that is done. DD is about to get up from her nap so I guess organizing is done for the day!!...See MoreIt Never Ends. Beware: This is Something of a Rant.
Comments (58)From an earlier poster: It is true, that, left alone to reproduce naturally, eventually (not during our lifetimes) purebred dogs would probably become homogenized into a prototypical pariah dog - about 45 pounds in weight, 18-20 inches tall, yellow or sable colored, with upright ears and a long, slightly curled tail similar to the Dingo of Australia, Canaan Dog of Israel or Carolina Dogs of the Southeastern US. It is also true that if dogs ran free, the unhealthy ones would not have the stamina to compete, and so the gene pool would of necessity be healthy. I have adopted two "pariah dogs" although I usually call them pound hounds, Heinz 57, or South Carolina hounds. They are the smartest, healthiest dogs I know and yeah I'm biased but others agree. They asked me how I 'trained' them to follow various non-standard commands like "this way" and "wait" and how I can take them for runs in the woods with no fear of vanishing dog (yes they're chipped) etc. The truth is I didn't train them formally, we literally just sorted out between us what I wanted and how I would let them know. I would never have anything but a rescue dog and I would want a heavily mixed one too. 95% of selective breeding is done for appearance, period. Inbreeding is biologically disgusting in any species. Breeding for desirable performance traits (like a good nose and tracking ability) can be accomplished by intelligent intraspecies breeding without in-crossing. Keep up that grand-dad to grand-daughter thing and you will get diseased dogs in a relatively few generations...certainly within the breeding career of one fanatic incrossing breeder....See MoreNow the fridge won't fit, it seems like it will never end
Comments (2)Oh, I am so sorry that you are going through this but I can so relate! Doesn't it feel like it will never end? You poor thing! I hope you treat yourself to a nice day at the spa and get pampered. I also hope you are finished soon. There is nothing worse than having your house torn up and strangers in and out making a mess!...See Morecyn427 (z. 7, N. VA)
