I just got their email today that they "must" raise prices again. They went up 20%, and their own-root Austins are now $65 each! What in the name of....??? I hope folks know that you can buy Austins from David Austin (Texas) as many of them are own-root (in the United States) already for half the cost. Many of them are grown own-root because they perform well in the U.S. When you compare a $35 own-root from DA to a $65 own-root from Heirloom, well, there's no comparison. I have purchased dozens of roses from Heirloom and have been mostly satisfied (with only a couple of exceptions that they generously fixed), and they have great customer service. But $65 for a rose? I'm glad I bought most of mine three years ago.

On a happier note, I cannot say enough good things about PERFUME FACTORY. Mine will not stop blooming (it's a standard is so is grafted on Dr Huey rootstock) this summer, and the fragrance is marvelous at all times. If you get a chance to pick one up, please do! Mine has been absolutely disease free as well. I can't wait to see it after it's been in the ground for a few years.
