I had mine cleared out, but they're back! lol It is a great blessing, but it's a lot to deal with. I understand completely. What is it called....the burden of abundance?
You know, Lynn, I've been having this "gut feeling" about the grasshoppers and our very dry past years--the La Nina years. I've mentioned to Rick a few times that it might take a very wet (even flooding) year to get rid of them. I remember reading something awhile back about how a flooding May will drown their eggs. Don't know if that's true or not.
Did y'all read the Little House series? I wonder if those years that Lynn mentioned were the same years the grasshoppers were destroying their crops on Plum Creek? It's been awhile since I've read those books, but I believe they lost everything and were forced to move. About the time they all got sick and Mary went blind. Anyway....
Of course a flooding May will cause it's own issues.
I have more to post, but we're heading out the door now.
