All Weather Aluminum Sliding Doors?

Does anyone have any experience with All Weather Aluminum sliding doors? I have narrowed 3 patio doors (regular 2 panel) to Lacantina, Fleetwood, and All Weather. All Weather has the best pricing, followed by Fleetwood, followed by Lacantina (due to freight).

Looking for any experience with the product and if they are holding up long-term. Thanks!

The link below gives you the procedure for replacing the rollers---which are most likely the reason your door is so difficult to operate. You can buy the replacement parts from most hardware stores or home improvement stores. This replacement procedure also explains how to take the door out of the frame. When I built my home 23 years ago the contractor would only install Weathershield products. I asked him to switch to Pella but he refused. He stated that the weathershield products were far superior to all other brands. I should have "FIRED" that builder. I allowed him to build my house and use the best wood and exterior clad doors and windows that they had at that time The Weathershield windows and especially the 4 section sliding patio door have been a disaster. We had numerous problems and the factory people and their REPS were a joke. We have lived with our bad decision since our house was built. I can't attest to the quality of their products today but when we bought them 23 years ago it was our biggest mistake.

Is Blomberg more expensive than Marvin or All Weather?

I have a new-to-me house with Blomberg windows. I was confused as to why I could not locate them as they used to have a very good reputation, but found that they closed their business in 2013. There was a note that they would have new ownership but nothing further on that. The windows and sliding doors are still in very good shape, btw... I wanted to add a few additional ones.

I’m at the same crossroads in the same region. Looking closely at the marvin elevate. I have some oversized windows that I would need to scale back with the elevate line. The ultimate line goes bigger but is just too $$$ to do all of the windows. I am trying to fit in ultimate doors instead. Also looking at kolbe, weather shield and Andersen. Curious what you guys think. Going for the black metal window look.

What did you end up with and what influenced that choice? I'm also looking at All Weather.

Alistair - I wasn't the original poster, but was also looking into All Weather, Fleetwood, Western and Awake - some of the aluminum windows out there. As I explored, I noticed that some of our local window distributors who used to carry All Weather stopped showcasing them in their showrooms. I also heard from a few local window dealers that they aren't as reliable long term as Western. We ended up deciding to go mostly with Western. Curious what the original poster here decided and if others have opinions. It's really hard to find real data on windows and their reliability over time.
