The mirror you see is actually our bedroom mirror, it goes above the dresser. When I painted the bathroom I took down the old peeling mirror and didn't bother putting it back (it was HEAVY). So, I could lower this one a bit so it doesn't collide with the light shades and live with it, but then I'd need to find another bedroom mirror (which would be easier though), but I'd also have to worry about this one peeling from water splashes. This one is too pretty to ruin. My husband splashes :-( I do like the idea of an oval, may flowers, and a 3-light fixture, thanks. Do you think a beveled oval would be nice, or should it have a frame?

I think it will look cluttered regardless of the mirror size. Pal has provided a really good and pretty option that maybe you hadn't considered, another option would be to find sconces that go over the mirror.

I did a little thinking on this. Light socket to left of mirror- it is attached to a stud on the right side of the little electrical box. I am going to replace it with a 3 capacity box, putting the socket in the spot on far left, then patch/cover the other two. This will allow me to move the mirror down a few inches to be centered on vanity. I will still have room between it and framed the mirror. Lights- I will then be able to center the lights on the vanity/mirror, not on the sinks. But the original hollywood light had one wire in middle of fixture. To install two lights I will need to split that and run through the studs to get to new opening for new fixtures. I was not thrilled about patching drywall to do this. But...... if I remove the mirror ( which is not glued as originally thought) I can open up the wall behind the mirror, do the split, bore through studs, run new wires up to the new fixtures holes. Then I patch the wall which will be covered by the mirror so it doesn't have to be perfect!!!! It is a lot of work but will be worth it in the end. Can't wait to finish and post pics.

Hi Elaine, 120 watts of incandescent light should be more than adequate at the mirror. Yes, you should consider LED bulbs. To my eyes the best currently available are coming from Philips & CREE. Be sure to choose a dimmable bulb so you can vary the light level.
