I prefer the look of a large rug that goes under the bed, with a couple of feet of rug that stick out from the three sides (an 8'X10' rug is perfect for a king sized bed).

Just about any major carpet store can help you by making a custom runner and not too pricey. The cheapie way would be to get 3 short rugs (all the same) and arrange them evenly following hallway path. HD offers a limited variety of runners thru a vendor and perhaps vendor can do custom runner

Sonja I have a very shady porch and I tried to grow even low light plants without much success. They just don't flourish. I have fake geraniums in my porch planter which is a sentimental homage to my grandmother (the planter used to hold actual geraniums on her sunny porch) but fake plants are tricky, they can look tired and tacky. In my case, it is a small application, but I wouldn't recommend it for that wall. We have nautical art on ours, because we miss our old place on a lake, which also had a porch so the art is from there. I have seen so many great outdoor art pieces in my travels to garden centers and craft fairs over the years. I'd start though with my local Goodwill, etc. or antique, used stuff shop. I often find great art there and wish I had more room. Old windowpanes/storm windows can be dressed up in many artsy ways.

Hi Kristi, I would suggest that you keep your current rug and not adding another one to the chair. As long as you set it in a way that is open to the other furniture pieces it should be fine on its own. Leaving the space in front of the patio doors just makes more sense from a functional standpoint. Good luck with your project!
