Has this line been discontinued? I don't see it anywhere on Crossville's website in October 2019. I just visited the Crossville showroom in a large metro area that claimed to have the full collection on display and only saw a few of the standard-sized marble-look tiles which were much more mottled and muted than those on display in the model home link above that is labeled from the "Virtue" collection. Most of the marble look-alike porcelain now showing as available online from Crossville is the large to extra-large format, also called laminam.

I think the first clue to the intent of oldryder's post was his first sentence, "This is a teaser." The second, which actually appeared first was "dyed blobs of plastic with rock chips." Personally, I thought it was funny and not the least bit serious. We can get way too solemn here sometimes. A good twist of the tail every now and then can put things back in perspective. We've talked about stone vs. quartz before (just a little ;-) ), but I think both palimpsest and GreenDesigns added new thoughts to the conversation. I'd never seen the ceramic product GreenDesigns mentioned as a potential contender, and really appreciated barthelemy's contribution on that subject. I wonder if it would be practical for shower walls? And second place for funny (after dried blobs...) goes to may_flowers for "Granite is for those still in the stone age; quartz is for us hipsters who love technology. " Made me smile. *snort*

I used laminam in the kitchen for back splashes. I didn't want anything that had grout or uneven surfaces that would be hard to clean from cooking splashes and spills. My husband juices a lot and you would never know it. I used the cream color and it looks beautiful. Best of all, after four years, it's as clean as the day it was installed. It's very easy to clean and everything wipes right off. The sheets are very large and thin and have to be handled very carefully. Our cabinet builders installed it for us. It was the first time they had even heard of it but they were impressed. We are building a new home and will be using it again.

I like your choices -- they are pretty and appear to coordinate well. It is a nice neutral color scheme and you can certainly add more color with accents so unlike some other posters I am not worried about the lack of color in your base choices. You didn't mention what your flooring is though -- that is a critical element. Sharing what flooring you have/intend to put in will help with responses. My only small critique on your present choices is that I don't love using three metal elements (matte black, stainless, and satin brass). I would pair those choices down to two if I were you (which two depends on hardware in the rest of the open space and the overall look you are going for).
