Need advice with porch decor

Hi! I have absolutely no design capabilities in my blood! Please help! I bought 2 chairs and that’s about it. Would like to add some plants, a table maybe a lantern or 2 or whatever would make this porch look cozy and cute.

I will be posting for help with the landscaping after this is done! :) thank you!

Hi, Melanie! I would place a low rectangular planter between the two chairs with ferns. Maybe add a rug leading up to the door (like a 4x6 or 5x7). Not sure about the other items...maybe a couple of taller lanterns near the door.

IMO get the landscping done then come back for help with the porch. From what I see of the house anything cute will not work.To me those chirs look like something for a screened in porch on a traditional home . What do you actully plan to use the prrch for ? A coffee in the morning a glass of wine in the evening what exactly. Can you take a pic of the house from further back shoing the whole front yard. Maybe just some nice plants and no seating it is hard to tell with really no info. Post the new pics here in a comment DO NOT start another post and also some clue as to the interior style is helpful

I love the silvery bronze color! It reinforces the delicacy of the chairs, and is much cooler than black would be. Yes, turn the table 45 degrees to the corner, pull it out a bit, and put a big potted tree in that corner behind it. Stick to natural candles in big glass chimneys. Cover the cushions in a bold Sunbrella cream and terra cotta or cream and sky blue stripe, and add pillows in a coordinating tropical print. Put a generous sized indoor-outdoor rug in a natural texture with a deeper or patterned border, but don't overdo the patterns...you want the pattern of those fabulous chairs to dominate. I would also find a big old mirror at a flea market or consignment store, paint the frame with exterior paint to match the stripe, and hang it vertically over the pot in the photo. Amazing what a mirror outside can do! Pack your planters with a mixture of fragrant herbs and colorful foliage and blue and yellow flowering plants, and you'll have a real oasis out there! (I know...I always go a bit too far...but I always want to describe what I see in my mind's eye, in case you might like it, too.) Are you sure that is metal? It looks like it could possibly be wood and if so that would be an easy build. Even if your inspiration photo is metal you could still have them built out of wood and stained.

Bare front porch needs decorating

When we lived in the country, my house was set back far from the road with a lot of trees. I had a small bench near my front door so I could sit out there with my coffee and see my kids get on and off the bus. I would love a bistro table and a couple of chairs there...but only if the situation lends itself to that. If you're right on the road and would never sit out there, then you wouldn't want that. You might want a long low planter over there....what grows depends on how much sun you get.

Thanks all. I meant to say in my first post I want to redecorate my front porch (and I dk how to edit this post). Here are more pictures so you can see how big it is. I can’t do a swing cause I need easy access to my side yard (in case someone were to suggest that). The chairs I wanted are sold out but I found these below. They don’t go with the colors inside my home but they are on sale at 70% off, sooo comfy and if they aren’t too large (I have to measure) I might just purchase them. Not crazy about the green stripe but I could get them recovered down the road?? Alright, please let me know if you think these might work or if you have other suggestions. What if you put a high back garden bench on the far left rail facing the steps...it would help enclose the space.

Then add an outdoor rug, chair pads, and glazed pots in your favorite color. Hang flowering baskets from the eaves. Oops add your lanterns too.

It's a nice space, but it is small. I agree with Patricia about doing the landscaping first.

Personally I wouldn't want crowd the space with planters.

Keep it simple and uncluttered, a zen place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

How big is the space? Looks small to me too. And I agree with the ”cute” comment. This looks like a fine, expensive home. Cute is out of place here.
