Can someone help me identify this weeds or grass and advise me on how to get rid of it. won't let me post to the original post, so changed the subject here, I just saw a post on dallis grass, did a google image search, and it's possible that could be it too, at least in my yard. would explain why I can't seem to kill it anyway. now, oxalis anyone? HOW do you kill that stuff??? sally - my yard looks like it's 6 inches deep in snow with oxalis in the spring.

I agree with DC, it looks like Bermuda with some nutsedge growing in it. The nutsedge needs lots of water, but the Bermuda does not. Water according to DC advice & that will help a lot, but you still may need to spot spray with a grassy weed product to knock the Sedge back. I've had good luck with products using sulfentrazone (spelling?) as the active ingredient. Image, Sedge hammer, Sedge ender, etc.

I was about to say raise your mower height. It looks like a rotary mower scalp. Then I seen where you wrote you have it on the highest setting, hmm Have any pets that would be peeing in those areas? Also you could also do a screwdriver test and see whats underneath. Maybe some big rocks, roots from the big tree??
