furniture for screened in porch
Comments (3)We have a screened-in porch and have used the same furniture for the last 11 years. We bought good quality outdoor pieces (no wood, nicely painted metal frames, glass table tops, cushions that are not water-proof, but dry well if they get damp occasionally). We ended up having the cushions re-made about 5 years ago simply because they had gotten dirty over time. The only other evidence of weathering is that the ends of the chairs have little brass pieces and it's just about impossible to keep them shiny. This has worked well for us, although, in Massachusetts, we only use the porch for about 4 months of the year....See MoreOutdoor Rugs for Screened Porch Suggestions
Comments (5)DSis has purchased rugs from Frontgate that are holding up well. Miss. weather and rain. DM has one from Home Depot that is in its 3rd year and still looking great. It sits on concrete that is often damp and it also gets wet on two sides each time it rains. We've used the rugs natesgram mentioned and they may be an option for you if you can find the color you like. We used them at horse shows when a stall needed to be turned into a tack room! They clean up easily with a broom and are easy to fold and move. Instead of buying an expensive rug and hoping it lasts, I'd be inclined to buy less expensive and replace them every 2-3 years if necessary. Doing so would allow you to decide if you like dealing with a rug in that area before investing a lot of money. Costco often has 8x10's for $100....See MoreScreen porch furniture ideas
Comments (5)Having worked in re-upholstery for 20 years, I have seen my fair share of rusted springs and staples and also mold/mildew. Its not the water penetrating through a screened in porch but that you have no control over the humidity levels like you have in your home. The foam will absorb this, theirs no way around this, so its not the fabric the issue here. I would never recommend leather upholstery for a screened in porch. Their are very comfortable furniture, as comfortable as any interior furniture that is made for screened in porches and not intended for any outdoor use. Their is a difference in upholstery made for interiors, screened in porches and outdoors....See MoreFurniture placement for screened porch in new build
Comments (7)Okay: This is what I came up with! Of course, the way you use this space is EVERYTHING. I created two separate seating areas - divided by a "dining" area. One being an outdoor sectional which could be around either an additional fire pit, coffee table, or even ottomans. Near the fireplace/TV is a teak set - a sofa, two chairs, and coffee table. It also depends if you plan on bringing a grill onto the porch as well! Below are the exact pieces I used in the layout:...See MoreRelated Professionals
