Should I be concerned with my bald cypress trunk chop?
Comments (3)It may not come back out. Cypress usually die if their foliage is all cut off. Down here in FL, if we want to kill one, we just chop all the limbs off, and the plant dies....See MoreInfestation of snails in my backyard. Should I be concerned?
Comments (6)I've come to rely on the pelleted bait - I often sprinkle it around new plantings of seeds to keep the slugs & snails from destroying the seedlings before they can take hold. I had a bad infestation of Cuban brown snails a couple of years ago & now they're almost completely gone from my yard. I buy it @ Home Depot - most garden supply stores should have it - it's iron phosphate & breaks down into fertilizer... Thinking those in the photo might be tree snails? This article says they are not a pest... Here is a link that might be useful: Tree snails...See MoreWhats these weird lesions on my blueberry stems?Should I be concerned?
Comments (5)Well crap. Someone actually said stem canker. I knew it. I actually was very scared to mention that word and had a slight hope somewhere in my mind that it was not canker but now that someone has made it clear I guess I can go into definite despair. Websites say to cut down all branches affected by canker. Is that really going to help it and is it even worth it or do I have to junk this blueberry completely?...See MoreShould I be concerned my peach and apricots haven't leafed out yet?
Comments (8)you live in METRO detroit ... by definition .. its suburban ... if you can see more than one neighbor.. its suburban ... if your roads are paved... etc .... just because you have a couple horses.. does NOT make you rural ... lol ... can we at least agree.. your are not urban ... in the city ... anyway ... the easiest way to avoid grief.. with apricot.. is to avoid them ... in SE MI ... i presume you will agree we live in SE MI???? i highly recommend you get that refund.. and be done with them ... i have banged my head on the barn called apricot ... for decades.... i highly recommend you avoid said banging ... it gets old fast ... do as i say.. not as i did .. imo ... always a pleasure.... ken ps: anywhere around metro detroit. that is a claimed z6 .. is.. in my book.. living the effect of being in the suburban weather effect ... and the only problem with that claimed z6 ... is that every couple years.. they get socked with the reality.. that they are really z5 .... like everything else for hundreds of miles... imo.. the only true z6 in MI .. is the west coast fruit belt .. but i digress ......See MoreAnna Devane
