Limewash stone facade

Recently bought a ranch style home built in the 1970s in San Diego CA. I'm not loving the stone facade, eventually I will remove/replace it. However we have done a lot on interior renovations and redoing the outside is not in the cards for a few years, for budget reasons. I'm considering doing a limewash on the stone to give it a slightly cleaner , modern, more coastal feel. Is this a good idea or a bad idea. Looking at Romabio Limewash and not putting it on too thick, just wash out the color but keep some of the character. Thanks for the input.
