Room makeover. Need help
Comments (3)Hello Manon, When you say bohemian I think fabrics, juxtaposing, texture, nature and travels. So -in no particular order- a rug or 2 (layering them), a canopy above your bed, a wooden stool next to your bed as a night stand, a macrame wall hanging (if you're into DIY that's a cool project), white linen sheets and bedding with very colourful patterned pillows, plants plants plants, a variety of mirrors, pompoms and tassels, candles, a sheepskin (faux) on your desk chair, art and items evocative of travels and various cultures... To keep the 'chic' in all of this, try to stick to 3 colours that are repeated at least twice, to get a cohesive look. For example mostly white (canopy, macrame, sheets, sheepskin), blue as a secondary colour (rug, pillows, pompoms, accessories), and pink accents like your Bonheur pillow (other accessories, smaller decor). Does this inspire you? You can also have a look through Houzz photos of boho chic bedrooms Best, Mehdia...See MoreGreat room makeover help
Comments (8)No true gray, it won't work with your warm floors. Well, let me back up a bit. You can make gray and warm floors work but it needs to be intentional and well thought out. If you are a novice decorator it is much easier to work with the tones in the room rather than trying to blend warm and cool. Accessible beige SW is a nice crisp neutral that works well with warm tones but has the clean modern look of a cooler color. Comments (82)Here's a picture of our old layout, minus the rocking chair that we had by the wall unit and the fireplace. And a picture of best layout incorporating all needs/stipulations I had to work with. The new layout has templates with existing tables that I will change as I am able. You can see how much the entry was blocked, I had 1 little picture to the right of the fireplace (sunset was in dining room) and that big honking wall unit with an analog TV and a small hand me down digital TV with a firestick on the coffee table and extension cords running from there to the fireplace wall. I think I've thought of every possible configuration of things and have gone back to the drawing board several times when I've run them by my husband. 100's of media consoles, sofas, fireplaces, floors, layouts. We use the turntable. The Ikea bottom cabinet doors slide....See MoreBlue Color Fabrics- Living Room Makeover- HELP PLEASE!
Comments (5)I definitely don't like the bottom option. I would like the top fabric if it were reversed. Meaning the navy were the geometric pattern and the ivory was the background. I would also try to incorporate a floral, a polka dot, an animal print or something whimsical. This is a great article on how mix patterns: https://www.onsuttonplace.com/5-tips-for-mixing-fabric-patterns/...See MoreNancy Tran
