Comments (3)You skipped over the most important part. What was the subfloor and what condition was it in? How thick are the joists and what are their spacing under that subfloor? Did you calculate the deflection of what's there before just applying the backerboard? If you had water damage with the carpet, it may have damaged the joists under the subfloor and you may need to repair that before proceeding. Or, the joists may just not be supportive enough to be able to install the tile you envision without adding additional thickness and cross bracing to them. Begin again at Point A. Comments (5)gray. a light gray will be perfect. white will just blend in w/the tile and will look like a giant white sheet. plus the gray does offer some protection from dirt. I like Smoke Gray instead of silver shadow. Silver Shadow is still a white but w/a green blue undertone here, read this dilemma about her choosing white grout https://www.houzz.com/discussions/grout-color-for-basket-weave-tile-dsvw-vd~4975284?n=3...See MoreMaster bathroom floor plan help please!
Comments (13)Maybe you could take the small closet across from the entrance to the SE bedroom and combine it with your current master closet? Then keep the window in the bathroom by installing a pocket door into master bathroom, or maybe a barn door? That way you can save a little space. Move shower to external wall corner where there’s currently the small closet near the entrance, double vanity along new wall? Then you’d get light from the window bouncing off the vanity mirror. Maybe it would help the bathroom look bigger too. You probably already know this, but trying to keep plumbing where it is as much as you can will save you a lot of money! More money to put into finishes, or another project! Good luck! Remember, there are many good choices here, not just one!...See MoreBathroom floor color help
Comments (19)Ok, so I would use the large shower tile for the shower floor. if they have the mosaic that matches the tile, why wouldn't you use that one? The herringbone is nice, but it looks completely different than the wall tile. If the tile hasn't shipped to you yet, ask them if you can cancel and order the other mosaic. For the regular floor, since you don't want grout lines, use the large wall tile on the floor. Like this? thenmaybe you could do a 'rug inlay' of the same tile, but in the mosaic, in front of the vanity. Otherwise, I'd pick a medium gray, larger floor tile. what's wrong w/these? they match the gray in your tile and come in 10" sizes. Do he same grout color instead of white, and it will look great. Basically you'll get this look: Do the shower wall tiles come in a 4x12 or 4x16 size? If so, could you do a larger herringbone w/them? you could also cut your 12x24 tiles into 6x12 sizes and make a border around the perimeter, do the other tile inside of it. or lay the large 12x24 tiles, and do a rug inlay...See MoreShasta
