How can I hide heat pump lines on a bedroom wall?

Hi!
I am looking for suggestions to try and hide this AC line that is on a bedroom wall
So far, ideas have been:
- a curtain that covers the entire wall,
- have the wall opened and the line put inside the wall
- a bulkhead that would go halfway down the wall
- a bookshelf over it?
Have any of you ever dealt with this? I would love to hear your fixes. :-)

Comments (48)Gardenwebber, that is SUCH a good point about "entertaining in their rooms". Here's a thought about your floorplan: have the kids take the back two bedrooms. Move your son to the smaller bedroom, the girls in the room with the closet. Take that wall that you guys put up and turn it into the bunk beds in separate rooms. This will give you a lot more useable floor space. Swing your youngest daughter's bed against the far wall and you will maximize the floor space there. Your son can have the lower bunk bed in his own room next door. That leaves the bedroom directly across from yours as a playroom. That also makes your own bedroom further away from the kids beds. The bunk beds are just drywalled with the mattress only on them. We have always had a rule that our kids cannot have a computer, video games or tv in their bedroom until they are 18. I do not want that stuff cluttering my downstairs living room. An upstairs space for this is the best solution. We built our current home knowing that we were going to have teens in them someday and to give them space separate from ours. Think about this solution. My husband would be happy to talk you and your husband thru the details if it is something you would be interested in. Comments (31)Besides all the techniques noted in the above thread, there are a number of speciality products for floors and particularly intersecting building planes, i.e., walls, floors, ceilings. (Co. link is for illustration only.) As leading researchers have noted, flanking pathways defeat the best laid plans. In one home I built, the heating ducts were like a speaker phone between the kid's basement play room and a second-floor bedroom. Separate HVAC systems by floor was a design that would have cured that. A designer friend gave me a tour of a Swiss bank headquarters under construction in a downtown high rise. Comments (27)Cpartist - not uncommon to do in other parts of the world. People make things work with what they have and what is available. This one in particular looks fairly large and like it has the capability to at least be a one bedroom or have a small 2 bedroom one. Masoud - what is the intended purpose for the second bedroom? Is it for children or? I know my niece has a room with no window in her dad's apartment and with wallpaper it is actually a very pleasant room and at her current age she spends more time outside than in her room anyways with mainly sleeping there and when sleeping you generally close off the windows. I know in certain areas of the world egress is important, but even in the US there are areas where a window isn't required to be a bedroom. I'm from Europe and live in Texas and my old house had one that I used as an office and when I sold it I didn't list it as a bedroom even though the realtors all told me it was a valid bedroom. Although you appear to have a little more space (talking a few cm/ an ich) to add a wall between the door and the window it is still tight and the light will likely not reach into most of the bedroom in the back. Comments (56)If I had to guess the slope of the shed roof I would say from 1-10 in 12; 1-7 in 12 and 1-4 in 12 depending on the sill height above the roof of 6", 12", and 18" respectively. If I had to guess the slope of the hipped roof when the height of the rough window sill is 12" above the flat roof, I would say 2.5 in 12 (first model). For an 18" rough sill height the slope might be 2 in 12 (second model). The unknown variable is the height of the porch eave relative to the bedroom floor level. I have assumed the eave is 6" below the floor height but that's probably optimistic. That should work for shingles with Ice & Water Shield underlyment over WB (water based) Primer or a fully-adhered single-ply membrane or copper. That's similar to my porch roof near Boston that's been fine for 120 years, originally with copper then with an adhered EPDM membrane. If the snow gets above the window sill the heat from the glass keeps it from touching the glass and frame....See More
