You know, not knowing what to put where was probably part of it for me, too. I've seen kitchens with knobs on the uppers and pulls on the lowers. Or pulls on the uppers and knobs on the lowers. Or knobs on doors and pulls on drawers. Or vice versa. And then what do you do with the dishwasher panel (if your dishwasher is paneled, or if a woodchuck is planning to chuck wood on it). I decided to get nice big handles that wouldn't cramp my fingers and put them on everything. They were heavy-duty enough for the dishwasher panel, and I only needed one of them on the 30" drawers (instead of two knobs). But I've seen some combinations of knobs and pulls here that I've loved, so it's really just another one of those endless decisions - which cabinets, which finish, what height uppers, what countertop, what backsplash tile, etc. I tried to make a list of all the decisions I had to make over the course of this renovation. I gave up after my third glass of wine. ;-) Whatever you decide to do will be correct. :-)

I recently completed a kitchen remodel and used pulls on all cabinets. I'm really happy with how it turned out. The upper cabinets pulls had a vertical orientation and the lower ones had a horizontal orientation. Uh-oh. I spent my morning looking for pulls like the first one pictured. I have accidentally bumped into trendy (again!) without meaning to. Our 1936 house came with glass knobs and window pulls that look like the RH stuff and I was hoping to pick something similar for our new kitchen/addition. From what I can see, lots of manufacturers produce similar pulls, usually called window lifts, sash pulls or utility pulls. Some are cheaper coated zinc but the better and more expensive ones are solid brass and can be found plated in different finishes, which varies by manufacturer. You need to try different search terms to find them online because different manufacturers call them different names, but generally they are intended for window hardware, not kitchen cabinets, so if you look at a manufacturer or hardware site under a cabinet hardware subheading they won't show up. So far I have found similar pulls made by Baldwin (solid brass), Samuel Heath (UK), Schlage (solid brass), Croft (UK), Ives, Rocky Mountain, Merit Metal (solid brass), Brass Accents and Deltana (solid brass). One of these may be the actual manufacturer for RH. Some are less expensive than RH, like Schlage and Ives, some are similar, like Baldwin. I don't know why Deltana is so pricey but maybe somebody else can shed light on this company and why it charges more. For the larger sizes, look for what are called cabin door pulls. Merit Metal has some great looking ones, though not cheap. It seems like hardware meant for marine use has to be sturdier, so I have found some great-looking hardware at sites selling to boat and yacht owners (cool lighting for bathrooms, too). I haven't gotten to the glass knob matching yet, so if anybody has done research on those maybe we can start a different thread.

For WalnutCreek... I was already away by the time I saw your request, but did manage to con my husband into snapping a couple quick photos. First photo shows the 12 inch dishwasher handle. Other handles on the photo are 5 inch. For scaling purposes, drawer stack is 15 inch wide, sink base is 24 inches, and dishwasher is standard 24 inches.(Ignore the primered window trim!! Seems this reno is neverending.) Second photo shows our pantry cabinet, which is 30 inches wide, as is the drawer stack next to it. Door is 50 inches high with 9 inch handles. Drawers (both sets) have pairs of 5 inch handles. Knobs on the wall cabinets. These two banks of cabinets are on opposite walls, about 10 feet apart. For poolroom... fwiw, my old kitchen had handles very similar to what you're proposing. They weren't my cup of tea style wise, but I never found that they got any dirtier than other handles. Mine were oil-rubbed bronze though, so that might be a factor.
