sleevepresto, A floating vanity gives you some under cabinet storage while giving a more spacious feeling to a small bathroom. I thought about adding rope lighting below mine to highlight this, but I decided it might be too busy for the room size, and that would defeat my primary design objective. If you need more storage, could you incorporate additional between-the-studs storage besides the medicine cabinet? I bought two between-the-studs medicine cabinets that look like picture frames, but I'm not ready to use them yet. They're for my master bath remodel. They're very expensive, but very nicely made. Thanks for the suggestions, oceanna. I'll have to try and find the gallery. As far as the green goes, we removed wallpaper in the green family and I was happy with that for years! I have to stay in that family because this powder room connects to a larger part of a walk through bathroom (which is actually where I put on my make-up and hubby shaves). This part of the bathroom is strictly for the toilet and handwashing. Today I am returning the etched oval mirror and getting a plain oval mirror. The vessel sink I ordered arrived and it is impacting my choice for the vanity top. I will be looking at faucets today, I have to make that choice before I can order the solid surface vanity top because of hole size and placement. I plan on sinking the vessel slightly into the vanity counter. Decisions, decisions! Anyone have a link to the bathroom gallery? Where do you find these things? It was the same in the kitchen forum, I could never find them (my gallery only showed the same old 8 pictures every day) but had people sending me links with tons of stuff! You guys are great!

I like the plum brown -- the purple only comes through where the sun is hitting it and it's almost an undertone elsewhere. I agree with filling the grooves and changing hardware -- try wood filler, but go gently. That stuff can be hard to sand down, especially if you have clumps of ridges. Work to have it go ion smooth. Fill and scrape off any excess before it dries so that you only have lighter sanding. Like spray paint, you would rather go with a few lighter coats than going to heavy. The panel might come off is nailed or screwed in place, but if it has glue, alone or with nails, it could tear up the wood. Just depends o what it is and how much is there holding how tightly. I'd try filling first. Another possibility is to try the paint first The dark color will make the grooves less obvious. And then there is the take the challenge and make it a feature approach. Look at painted furniture for ideas and make that panel a becomes a feature -- with a stencil, wallpaper, fabric (might be risky in a bathroom, but you could seal it.-- if it gets messed up, paint over it). Sounds like you are considering hte plum now -- tell DH it isn't purple -- more brown with an attitude or some character. Sounds better than raisin, doesn't it?

We recently put the polished nickel Delta Cassidy line in our master bath. It has a very traditional look at a good price point, and plumbers like it. We went with all cross handles. On the lavatories, however, we used the one handled trough faucet rather than the one you’ve shown. I can’t tell you how much we love them. Some people, however, I do not like a one handled lavatory faucet. If I were to use the version you have listed, I would go with the cross handles so that it does have a more traditional vibe. As to finish, consider what will look best with your other surfaces, especially your tile and countertop. As enduring says, the sheen is a little more cold on chrome and a little more warm on nickel.
