Hello I'm new to the site. I have been given a hot tub and i am trying to figure out how to turn it into a fish pond It cracked over winter so I'm just going to seal it.. It works ... So can I use the jets and it has a little built in waterfall ???I know the jets are powerful so I would have to find a way to weaken them.... Any ideas.... I would like to use as much as the original hot tub as possible .

Just a follow-up. Mom didn't like the look of the walk-in tub. It also has a distinct disadvantage. You have to be in the tub to run the water because the level of sitting is so high. You also have to wait until the water drains out of the tub to open the door before you can get out. They also have some that can be used as a shower in addition to tub. This was an advantage because the water would continually drain out while showering, but could sit down if needed to.

olychick, that is a Kohler hydrorail with a Moen rainhead in brushed bronze. (The Kohler rainhead was hundreds more, so I got a Moen on closeout.) I love, love, love the whole setup. So functional, and designed by Kohler primarily as a retrofit to avoid changing out a wall valve, or a lot of drilling. In the end, we did update our valve, but wanted to keep our simple, clean tile because the bath was very modest inside. I hope to put another in our MBR refurb. i think we lost our OP!

Before cutting anything out,see if panel in front (next to your feet as you step in tub) is screwed on to alow easy removal. Telling you how to repair cutout in plywood is simple,it's the doing part that can be difficult. I'll tell you how,then you tell me how to do your job ( taxes if you are a cpa,cut and style hair if you are a hair dresser,fly airplane,play violen,coach football or what ever is your profession. Use cutout,make a template or use cutout as pattern for new piywood of same thickness to fill hole. Lay replacement part on a sheet of 3/4" plywood and trace the outline with red pencil, Draw a blue line 2 or more inches outside red tracing and another blue line 2 inches inside red tracing. Cut out both blue lines to complete the "backer plate". If backer place can be wiggled through hole you are ready to glue it in place. If backer plate will not pass through hole,split backer plate. Apply Titebond II or Titebond III according to directions on bottle then clamp and/or screw securly in place. After glue cure's,glue repair piece to backer plate and you are ready for tile. After repairing plywood you need help with tile let me know. I will tell you how to set & grout tile if you tell me how to waltz.
