Hey everyone,
We purchased and installed a three piece shower surround. Right now I am trying to figure out a good way to finish/drywall.
The issue I am running into is that the flange of the shower wall comes right up against the corner of the wall. I plan on installing spacers on the studs so that the drywall over the shower sits flush against the shower flange. I also plan on installing a metal corner bead.
The problem I am trying to solve is what to do with the vertical section shown in the image attached. I can cut a thin strip of drywall to install over this flange prior to installing the corner bead, but I don't have a good way to attach it as any fastener would likely split this thin of a piece. Someone had recommended attaching a narrow strip of drywall to the flange with liquid nails but I am not convinced that would hold long term. Am I over thinking it? Any other solutions?
Thanks!
