I’m glad to find this thread. I have brand new matte white 30x30” porcelain tiles that were just installed. I love these tiles, but unfortunately I have two large puppies. After going for a walk, they leave oily black footprints all over the floor. I’m going crazy trying to keep the floors clean. It seems worse if their paws touch water. I spend a lot of my time every day cleaning the floors. I am using the bona mop and a spray bottle with water. It cleans off but the next day after a walk, it is back. It is also staining my new grout. Luckily it comes out easily.Is there a protectant that can prevent this? I tried cleaning their paws today, but it doesnt seem to have worked and one dog was not co-operative. I am now shoping for large rugs. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Good lord. Glass tile does not need sealing. It's not porous! And honestly, neither does grout on a kitchen backsplash wall. Most grouts are modified and are plenty "sturdy enough" to deal with surviving unsealed on a wall, even a kitchen backsplash wall. If I DID want to seal your grout, I would have applied the sealer just to the grout with a brush. Had any sealer gotten on the glass tile by mistake, I would have wiped it off immediately and not allowed it to dry on the surface of the glass. No how. No way. Regardless, the products he used are typically used as sealers on porous tiles; natural stone, saltillo, brick, etc. And grout too if needed. But not on glass tile. I highly recommend YOU call Custom's tech department. Tell them your story, and see if they can offer any advice. They may be able to tell you what stripper could possibly be used to remove the sealer, but in no way will they be able to guaranty that it won't affect the frost finish on the glass tile. Or that it will return your tile to it's "pre-sealed look". Nor should they, since for the most part, the product was improperly used. 800.282.8786 Best of luck...and my condolences.

Precision granite,,,,it's a ceramic tile. enhanced sealers need to absorb. Most ceramic tile isn't porous enough to accept an enhancing sealer. Linda, it's possible that particular tile isn't meant for constant water usage. Or, somehow all that cleaning may have damaged the glazing on the tile. years ago I installed some nice tile from Walker Zanger. It was a glazed ceramic. after about 6 months to a year, I noticed the tile (inside my shower on the walls) became very dull looking. I called the company and found out that they recalled that tile as it wasn't suitable for wet areas. The crazing (minute fissures in the glazing on the tile) allowed for water to absorb and eventually dull the glazing. They paid for new tile and new install. So, show your pictures to the tile company and have them contact the manufacturer. You may have the same issue that I had.

Wash the tile with a solution of 50/50 white vinegar and water. Rinse and dry. Tile should feel smooth if baking soda is gone, if not, repeat.
