Good fitness routine?

I'm looking for a good fitness routine that hits all the high spots: strength, flexibility, balance.

I'm looking for one that is easy and simple to follow, that isn't too onerous so it can be combined with aerobics.

I'm looking for one that is appropriate for my DH who is in his 80s.

He's basically healthy but I've noticed he's becoming increasingly ossified. I'm especially concerned with his sense of balance. We went off trail for a bit the other day and he had a terrible time negotiating uneven footing...I ended up getting him a large stick to use as a prop. He still goes to the gym and uses the bike or the treadmill, and some weight machines, but not so much on balance and stretching.

IIRC, there was a routine that Jane Brody of the NYT had put together for seniors that covered the basics, but that was decades ago. I'll have to see if I can find it.
