Flooring Design Dilemma

Carpet - Looking for recommendations on brands

We are planning to recarpet our 2nd floor (4 bedrooms and long hallway) in a neutral colored, texture (plush) carpet. We are considering Shaw and Mohawk. A carpet salesperson also suggested Dream Weaver but I'm concnered with that one since it is PET, which I have hard may not hold up as well as nylon.

We are empty nesters so the carpet won't get a ton of wear and tear but I would like to have carpet that holds up well and doesn't mat (especially in the hallway).

Looking for recommendations on brands (and even style if you know it) that you have used and your experience on how it is holding up after several years.

I just put Tuftex in the room over the garage, and on the stairs. I'm very happy with it. I looked for MONTHS for the right carpet - and this was exactly what I had hoped to find. Tuftex is part of the AndersonTuftex brand, owned by Shaw. It's supposed to be a "higher end" brand. The carpet was not inexpensive, but it was worth it. Both of the carpets (patterned is on the steps, solid in the room) are Anso nylon, both with the same face weight, and both have an excellent stain treatment. Just an update to close the loop on this thread, I’m sorry I’ve neglected to do that before. I purchased the trees, from decors Veronneau and two prints in colors I love. I’ve lived with the new rug, heron print, trees and new artwork around the curio cabinet for a while now and am satisfied. I hope you agree that what I ended up with is a nice option. I do still feel the need for something beautiful for the center of the table.
