We are planning to recarpet our 2nd floor (4 bedrooms and long hallway) in a neutral colored, texture (plush) carpet. We are considering Shaw and Mohawk. A carpet salesperson also suggested Dream Weaver but I'm concnered with that one since it is PET, which I have hard may not hold up as well as nylon.

We are empty nesters so the carpet won't get a ton of wear and tear but I would like to have carpet that holds up well and doesn't mat (especially in the hallway).

Looking for recommendations on brands (and even style if you know it) that you have used and your experience on how it is holding up after several years.
