How should I enclose these tables?

I live in a small house and therefore storage is precious to me. I picked up these two side tables last weekend at a yard sale but plan to use them as a coffee table.

My idea is keep the two sides that face one another open and enclose the remaining sides. That way I can shove blankets, pillows, etc inside and then push the tables back together and you’ll never know. I will also apply a film of some sort to the glass top so you won’t be able to see inside them.

Im struggling with a material to enclose the sides with. I’ve considered rattan cane webbing or stained wood panels, but I have a hard time envisioning things.

I like the look of them open but I need the storage so that’s not really an option for me.

Fabric would be easy diy. you can staple it in the inside.

Maybe wallpaper applied to plywood.

Not seeing the two 1960 ish end tables in your space, plus a lot of trouble to make them work.

Suggestion: white fireplace and no rug. Rug makes you space look smaller.

You should be pruning in late winter and you must leave some of last years wood in order to get fruit. If you prune off all of last years wood, you will get nothing. You can tell the difference between one yr and older wood by the color of the bark.

you need to take one of the top two leaders ... and maybe that one little wisp on the lower one .. that is curving back toward the center... even with the side of the neighbors garage way back there ... on the second pic then you need to define your goal with the rest of the tree ... i like to walk and drive under my trees.. and they are all pruned to at least 6 feet.. so i would take out the lower also ... but before you do any of that.. how long has it been there.. we dont heavily prune.. trees within the first year or two of planting.. whats your goal man???? do you have a proper mulch ring around it??? ken

In order to make an informed decision, I would have a professional take a look, so you know what you would be getting into structurally and cost wise. An option could be changing dining room side only, but have to consider symmetry, especially with arch going into living room. Perhaps it wouldn’t necessarily have to be entire wall as well. No matter what you decide (leave or change): - I would highly recommend painting the hall, staircase and living room the same color as dining room. - Lighten the stairs (see below) and change runner to something lighter/more interesting - A gallery wall could detract from the staircase’s narrowness, as the eye will be drawn to wall - Add a great ceiling light in front entrance If it were me, I’d first make these updates and then you can always reconsider. You may be happy with how the stairs feel, as well as the whole space in general; lighter, fresh and more cohesive

Wrong choice for what you want . I agree a blanket box or trunk a much better idea.. Can we see the whole space please / Just post the extra pics in a comment here do not start another post .I think maye 2 Ikea black cabinets tha are shallow one on either side of the FP would do much better job of your stuff you want to store and then hang some art above them and If you love those 2 tables use them for what they are

Those really are cute little tables as is. For what you want--get a sturdy cardboard box for storage and cover it with a tablecloth.

Yes it will require a little work to create the siding but a simple surface would be a stiff card which covered in a wallpaper will work. Cutting an insert to fit under the glass could again be wallpapered. A pattern or maybe just an embossed paper… Some ideas…
