Need help to figure out rug size and other details

We are in the process of reworking our living room and totally stumped on what to do with rug/wall art/lighting. The couch and mirror are new. Planning to paint the fireplace brick white. Including a photo of the space and the rug I’m considering. Would love thoughts on how big the rug should be, throw pillows to complement it, and side tables/lamps that might work too. Thank you!!!

    No rug in the dining room area. It's not really needed.

    Some colorful art for the walls is required.

    I moved your TV down and added some drapery panels to the living room.

    I'm not crazy about the arched mirror only because I think it's too plain but the size is good.

    A bolder patterned rug in the living room would have been better IMO.


    Gallery art walls have to be positioned just right. Yours are spread out too wide from one another. See the adjustment below.
