Get a sample and test it in your home . I always wonder why anyone choose fake plastic stone for a kitchen . Why not check real stone it has stood up for 1000s of years. There are some awesome white granites you get them factory polished and pretty close to bullet proof .

Granite is porous and with a time getting darker from absorbs. That happened with our granite. Marble is etching. So to go with not porous quartz is better solution for durability.

Quartz kitchen countertops are heat resistant and can protect against the spread of fire. However, extra caution should be taken as the countertops can get damaged from exposure to excess heat. Ensure you use heat protectors such as coasters, hot pads and trivets to protect the countertops from heat damage.

The marble look quartz from reputable companies hold up well. be very careful w/chinese knock-offs as they often use more resin.

check out MSI Calacatta Laza. it's a very nice looking quartz that works in all sorts of kitchens.

Mitered edge:

The mirragio is very 'bland' compared to the laza. If you want to do a patterned backsplash or something besides white cabs and white subway tile, then go w/this one.
