The season of mud

This might be the season of mud. Unfortunately, not the kind of mud that is produced by rain, but the muddy colors in your daylily seedlings. Here is another diploid that is muddy orange. It is Dragon's Orb X O Positive. Mud often happens when you cross golden yellow with red. This is the third muddy diploid first time bloomer we have seen this season.

This seedling is an improvement in my opinion--better color and a more interesting shape. It is Adavier X O Positive. Adavier is a greenish yellow so it plays nicely with red.

That's all for day. With the heat we are having now, I think we will see the scapes develop quickly. We got a bit of rain last night, but it was probably not enough to do anything but raise the humidity.
