Could be a fungus like Vladimir said, could also be an insect egg or just dirt on a bit of fluff. However, I'm more concerned with how dusty the leaves are. I may just be dust or it could be the beginnings of a spider mite infestation. It's a good idea to wash off the leaves from time to time, like maybe every 4-6 weeks. Take them outside and hose them off, or if that's not possible, put them in the shower and shower them off with cool water. Then let them drain well and put them back where they were. It helps prevent spider mites as they're attracted to dusty plants. And your plants love the rinsing off!

Lisa, If the pots were really root bound and tightly packed, best to cut off the bottom inch or so of roots and cut slits into the roots down the sides. Also, when you prepare the soil/hole for planting, really loosen up the soil 1 1/2 to 2 x's the size of the rootball. You want to be sure you're getting water to the roots. When you plant, don't plant any deeper than the existing soil line of the pot...that will help avoid rot problems if water tends to sit in the area or if the soil does not drain well. Miscanthus likes full sun and deep watering, but let the soil somewhat dry out between waterings. Don't let them sit with their toes wet all the time. It sounds like the root ball was very pot bound and you're now having trouble getting water to the plant, without the help of a good rain. The first few weeks are the most important as they establish. Don't let them dry out excessively during that time. Once established, they can better handle the occasional dry period, however, frequent summer waterings will keep the grass from getting brown tips. Grasses are really good at telling you when they're thirsty. Good luck!

(It is not a big drum sander but also not one of the very small hand sanders.) He has refinished quite a few floors & never seen anything like this! Now, this is a farmhouse & the dirt/traffic pattern has been going on for 40 odd years so it is well ground in. But still...

Okay nevermind.. I found the problem and fixed it!!! So, I was so pissed off that I just start tearing apart my heater. LOL ****Future note to Hayward owners*** There are two vacumn hoses attached to the main blower located under the top cover of the heater. Hayward in their cheap ass ways used the crapiest hoses possible. These hoses over time will crack and either leak or in my case just fall off. These hoses are a safety feature to tell the mainboard that the blower is functioning. Without the complete vacumn the heagter will shutoff so it doesnt catch fire. One of my two hoses had cracked on the end and just plain fell off. I clipped the end back to the good part of the hose and put it on the nipple. I assume that most "IF" error codes are caused by this problem. ALL FIXED AND NO $125 repair man fee!!!!!! Jdegid
