Hello Up North I need help
Comments (3)Definitely needs to be kept indoors for winter. It will get damage under 40 degrees, and will die if kept at freezing for 5 hours or longer. But that one looks like Seminole Pink, which is a little tougher than most, so it should survive indoors through the winter. Look out for spider mites when you have it indoors. They thrive in the hot, dry air. If you sit it on a tray of pebbles and keep water in it not quite up to the pot, it should be o.k. If it gets spider mites, you can use Orthenex on it, or just put it into the shower and wash them off....See MoreDrapery experts I need help!
Comments (21)Very quick virtual drawing, but if you want to pull the curtains to the opposite sides to allow light in during the day, but still keep the light out at night I think the idea of traverse rods really would work the best since they rods would be too high to easily reach. I didn't think of that when I mentioned the rods I did above. In order to keep the room from looking lopsided you could install a corner cabinet/shelf unit painted to match the trim to fill the bare wall space on the right. For best results I'd have the cabinet built-in so it's left side is the same distance from the window trim as the corner on the left side of the room is to the trim of that window. After I made this quick drawing I reallized you could possibly have your carpenter use the trim that is in the corner for the front of the cabinet. Since it will be painted it would be okay if there was a seam. This post was edited by justgotabme on Thu, Jun 26, 14 at 20:17...See MoreHelp me jazz up this Halloween display
Comments (3)Try the tall pumpkins and the cats (quite close together and place the cats slightly in front of the pumpkins and maybe slightly angled) in the middle -- a nice grouping! Then try the two orange-dressed figures on the left -- and the two purple dressed figures on the right. Try the tall figure with the black-and-white hat -- along with the two smaller black-and-white pumpkins -- on another surface in the room. Then take the small wood orange pumpkin from above the TV -- and sit it with the larger pumpkin on the left-hand cabinet. Sit the two glassy-ornage pumpkins together in the center above the TV. Comments (21)I agree--you're already well on your way to a stunning DR. I love all of teacat's suggestions--esp. for the black linen chair covers with pewter nailhead trim. One more item you may consider is to either swap out the glass bowl for your table centerpeice or add a fabric table runner--bringing in some of the lime accents. If you opt for a table runner, I'd look into some tone on tone colored fabrics to bring in some interest, but not draw attention away from the zebra rug. Perhaps in the bowl you could put in some very green pears. Little pops of color to draw the eye and keep repeating that color in your accessories. I recently did a similar color scheme in my DD's bedroom working with black, white and turquoise. I limited my palate to those three colors, but added one, and only one, pop of lime. I've noticed in decorating magazines where they do that sometimes--just bring in one item for another pop of color...like an orange cushion. I do also agree with redecor8's point about the curvy overload; though I do happen to love that chandelier....See Moredylen s
