Benjamin Moore White Dove OC 17 LRV 85.38 / Undertones: Creamy greige / Temperature: Slightly warm White Dove accommodates a lot of different paint colours because while it is a warm white, it has an almost greige base that calms it right down. This way it doesn’t come off as creamy/warm as Cloud White, but also isn’t as stark/cool as Chantilly Lace. White Dove is a soft white, so it won’t act like white, but just a VERY slightly softer version of it. Pick it: If you want a versatile white trim/door/ceiling colour that will accommodate a lot of cool and warm toned paint colours throughout your home. If you want a warm, but not too yellow wall colour Ditch it: If you prefer a more clean, crisp look Instead: Check out Simply White or Decorators White SW Dover White has more yellow undertones, so is a more creamy white IMO.

Okay! One thing I've heard is that because the enamel used for the cabinets differs slightly from the paint in the paint store, it may not be an exact match to a paint sample or paint chip from Benjamin Moore. Do you have a sample of the painted cabinet to use when choosing your countertop? In general, I don't think there will be anything wrong with Dove White and those countertops though!

You can’t go wrong with either Simply White or White Dove for kitchen cabinets. Both look great with dark countertops and gold accents. So many variables can affect the way a paint color looks. In my case, White Dove wouldn't look as yellow if I didn't have all my trim, doors, crown and cabinets painted BM Chantilly Lace, which is a true white compared to White Dove. My lighting is 3500K. Patricia is one of the few people on the forums who prefers the cold/bluish look of 4000K, so do some research before blindly following that suggestion. You can get recessed lights that are adjustable so you can change the Kelvin to suit your space. A few years ago I helped my Dad install some and I suggested they try them at 3500K ... after a few days they decided they liked the light a bit warmer and switched them to 3000K.
