Comments (2)Thank you, taitai for your response. Too wet sounds like a good possibility. It seems that each time one of the plants suddenly keeled over, it was after watering. Both containers are in full sun. As I think about it, though, the LLB is on the outside of each pot and I tend to water those containers left to right. The keeled over LLBs were in the left pot getting watered first and the other LLBs safely on the outside right were probably getting less of a direct watering. Blah, blah, blah...I'm babbling. Anyway, I think you are probably right and I'll try watering less. They are at the entrance to my potager which gets watered all the time because of the vegetable, so I'll have to resist the temptation to give the LLBs a drink every time. I think I'll go ahead and transplant one of the surviving LLBs from the right pot to the left. Thanks very much! Lisa...See Moresweet potato's in pots

Comments (9)I bought some annuals before we went on vacation and then again about two weeks ago. Lowes had their Pansies marked down to 50 cents a 6-pack the beginning of July, so I snatched them up. They also had a "dying plant rack" that had a red Verbena on it in a large hanging planter. I snatched that up. I think I paid 2 bucks for it, and got a bonus dark purple Wave Petunia out of it because they had stuck that in there to make the planter look fuller. And then, I had to do my yearly "save a Gerbera Daisy" thing. I have yet to have one of them bloom for me, despite bringing them in over winter and nursing them. But I'm going to crack the secret yet! Then, while at Walmart, without my husband, you KNOW I had to go look at plants. I picked up two Cordylines for a buck and a half each, and then MORE Wave Petunias that were red (because I think I lost my WS container of red). They were marked down too, and I'm hoping for reseeders on the Petunias. Since I'm doing a lot of summer sowing, I hope it keeps me away from any more garden centers. Comments (2)Well, it is hard to guess, but since you generally get plentiful rainfall I expect the sweet potatoes will produce just fine. Your mix looks good in the photo. When I've grown them in containers, I got a good yield, and I used a home-made mix for them as well. I didn't want for it to be too rich because I wanted to avoid getting all foliage and no taters, and it seemed to work out that way....See Moreprairiemoon2 z6b MA
