Need help with Master bedroom layout
Comments (2)Sorry, the link didn't work for me. I think the proposed layout is the better one, but I have a couple of questions. What is the triangular thing in the top right corner? Not there in the first layout. I would move the tv and bookcase to where you have the dressing table in the new layout. Put the chest and dresser on the same wall (assuming that triangular thing can go away), and put the dressing table angled in the corner near where the chest is currently. Leave walking space at the end of the bed....See MoreNeed advice for a kitchen/bath/bedroom remodel. Sketches attached
Comments (3)I'm not an expert, but your option 1 reminds me a little of my current layout. I thought I'd share what my designer came up with in case it sparks some ideas: My designer's plan: And here is the thread in the bathroom forum where people brought up some other interesting ideas: [https://www.houzz.com/discussions/layout-help-dsvw-vd~2922340[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/layout-help-dsvw-vd~2922340) With option #1, are the closets wide enough to be functional as a walk-in? My current closets are 3x3, the depth feels like a waste of space, so I'm aiming for shallow reach-ins. Seems like your existing closet is narrow and deep, so you may already have a good idea how that works for you. With option #2, I like that you can have a window in the bathroom. The bathroom is nice and big...but I think I'd rather have some of that square footage for closet space or in the bedrooms. What about using some of that bathroom space in option #2 for a reach-in closet? If the room is 8x10, you would have the width for a 5-6' bathroom and give up 2' for the closet....See MoreNeed Help with Master Bedroom Bathroom/Bedroom Layout - 1970s house
Comments (5)I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot....See MoreSuggested layout for triangular bedroom?
Comments (3)I'd put the head of the bed against the 1 metre wall to the right of the window. You could pull it out from the wall and put a shelf behind it to use as a nightstand. Put both closets/armoires along the wall to the right of the door. Can a desk be placed under the window? Perhaps the chest on the small wall to the left of the window. Good luck!...See MoreOlychick
