parts-I did not use a light rail. With the tape they go up pretty flush so you don't need to. Plus, my KD had contractor mount them on the front rail so that they are even less likely to be noticed and they tend to light the mid-back of the counter better - which seems to work nicely bc overhead lights get the front part of the counter. I've attached a picture so I think you can see what I mean. However, I will say this...when I'm in the DR, I can see the undersides of the cabs a little. It drives me a little batty. So I'm thinking about getting the paint matched and slapping a couple coats on the underside so the cream view doesn't get broken up. (I don't know if that will help and I plan to ask KD before I do it, maybe it's a terrible idea?!) So I don't know if a light rail would have helped to cover that issue? Yes, they are full overlay. However, this is probably one of the places where a cab line a step or two up would have been better. There is def a small gap between cabs. Completely within reason for the specs given, but bigger than I have seen in other more expensive lines. Doesn't bother me enough to have spent more for less gap, though! :)

My husband (tho we dont' live 2gether) has all GE monogram appliances except for his Miele built in espresso unit. His kitchen is very nice - 6 burner stove, griddle, side oven, etc. BUT HE DOESN'T COOK.... He feels I should have all my appliances match in my new home. I feel function is more important, as I do cook. I do use my kitchen and liking my appliances is more important than how they "look" to visitors. But, I would match my range/stove to my hood. Only because they seem like 1 appliance. So far I have picked a Bosch slide in range, hood custom from cabinet maker, Samsung cabinet depth frig, Sharp mw drawer, and I'm leaning towards a Kitchenaid dw. A Bosch dw would match nice, but since it's smaller than the KA, I prefer the KA. My frig and stove are on the same wall. mw on island, and diswasher on another wall. While I would like the handles to be pretty similar or if KA had thier new dw without a handle (that would be perfect - they don't) but, I don't think it's gonna look "god awful" not being matchy-matchy. I'm heading to Lowes today, just to compare before I finalize on my dw. All other appliances are purchased, and I can't return them. I'm hoping guests look more at my cabinets and counters than my appliances. Good Luck in your choices

lynn2006 - The Pot and Pan pull out is by Rev-A-Shelf, and not sold by Mid Continent. It fits in a 24" wide cabinet. I think they also have a skinnier one. I love it. And the LED UC lights are 2700. I wish I would have done a few more, but they are the perfect color. The overhead recessed lights came with the house, just regular lighting. Ideally, I would have changed them, but it wasn't in the budget. They are not really in the best layout, but it was too much trouble to do anything about it. myfoursons -- If you look closely, you'll notice that our KA Mixer in the cabinet is what my kids call "Notre Dame Blue". That was the only color my husband would allow. lcskaisgir -- yes, I'm so happy to get a deeper cabinet above the refrigerator and pull that away from the corner. Makes such a difference!

Thank you for all the nice comments! We are really enjoying it. Oasisowner- the blinds came from overstock.com. The best price by far and in widths by the inch. We are lining them though because so much sunlight comes through and no privacy at night. We are following the directions from Blog.jennasuedesign.com and the first one we did came out great. I hate kitchen curtains and custom shades are so expensive. I also wanted more organic elements in the room. Funkycamper- that detail was a nice surprise. The cabinet maker did a spectacular job on these. The 2 glass doors are the only ones painted inside and with set shelves so they line up perfectly with the window grid and the shelves are invisible.
