Am I Crazy? Fabric for office chair...
Comments (7)Nicole's post has me wondering now... Maybe I should be doing black & white...something like this I do have the fabric though as showing in my 1st pic (the pillows at the top) so maybe I should make use of it... Also, I have an appt with the upholstery guy mid next week so if I chnage from the fabric I have, I'll need to re-schedule and order fabric soon. Or...another vibrant one like this... I have such a hard time deciding because as soon as I do, I see something I like better, lol. B&W or bright pop of colour? Which way would you go?...See MoreEntertainment center dilemma, Please vote Yay or Nay on look
Comments (10)This reminds me of the customer kiosk at my office. When they built it, ten years ago, whoever took the measurements to make the form holders for the deposit slips must have just eyeballed it instead of using a real tape measure. Once it was in place, it looks good and has four different sets of slots for us to fill with forms, except that the forms are approx. 1/16 of an inch too long for the slots. It makes for a little mickey mouse exercise in frustration. You should have bought your builder a nice Craftsman tape measure before he began your project! I actually like the look of the first piece just a little better. And if that style fits all the components, resulting in a clean, cord-free environment, so much the better! Comments (26)I know I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't invest so much into a piece of furniture designed to house a TV. The more I see TVs mounted on the wall the more I am getting accustomed to them, and as the technology progresses they will become slimmer and slimmer, which will make cabinets to house them less desirable, and less necessary. TVs are part of our lives, and a nice wall mount where the cord is not visible under the TV looks good just about anywhere. A big entertainment unit takes up a LOT of space, and a lot of air, and kind of takes over your room. And, in the end, when you close the doors, the doors are so enormous that is looks kind of odd, and you're not kidding anyone; everyone knows that there is a TV inside! Smaller TVs, on the other hand, can hide in armoires and cabinets more successfully since the size of the furniture piece is more typical and the doors will be smaller. We debated over this for quite awhile, and are very happy we wall mounted the TV, placed a great looking buffet under it, (which could be used in any number of places in the house in the future) and just enjoy watching it. You can get the remotes now that go through the wooden doors; so that opens up lots of possibilities for furniture to house your DVD player, etc. Take a look at Craigs List sometime and do a search on Entertainment Centers. You'll likely see several that can't be adapted to today's TVs and are being sold for pennies on the dollar. I think you could always be vulnerable to that in the future if you buy something primarily because it works for the TV you want now. Good luck with your decision, this is just my two cents, and I'm sure you know best what will work for you....See MoreEntertainment unit repurposed to art/craft storage update!
Comments (7)Thank you ladies! Now the horrible task of wiping down every little tube and doohickey before it's put away. I can't seem to find lighting I want. I will use a floor standing multi light near the desk but would like somthing like this plug in light box for the top of the storage center. I remember this light from a Au. site. If any of you see something like this that's reasonable please let me know....See MoreLyn Nielson
