I think the wall is fine with nothing on it. Not every wall has to be full, empty spaces allow the full spaces to shine. But if you don't like it, I would think about what your home and lifestyle might benefit from. I do think gracie01's idea of cutting out between the studs and making a niche is lovely. I could also see an organizer, like PB's system, or just a big bulletin board, maybe a place to hang keys, bags, apron, mail sorter, etc... You may however have spots for all these things already.

I'll offer up something totally different just as an option, wire shelving units that are very functional though not as decorative as some other suggestions. You can put the shelf units wherever you want on the legs. If you place the bottom shelf at the lowest level for stability (lower than what is shown in these photos), you could then possibly place the next shelf high enough up to leave room for your feeding station. Design generally doesn’t need a license. In many states though, the term is state regulated and requires registration and testing. Georgia is one of those states. To be a Registered Interior Designer, you must prove that you have the education, tested abilities, and you must register with the state. You can call yourself a Design Consultant, or Room Stager, or any number of things to get around that requirement. You would need his specific wording of him describing his job to pursue that. Georgia prohibits anyone from performing residential or general contracting over $2500 without a valid license. When licensing is required and an unlicensed contractor has agreed to provide work – the contract is “unenforceable in law or in equity.” Electrical and plumbing are required to be performed by separately licensed plumbers and electricians, NOT a residential basic contractor. Only a fully licensed General Contractor can perform some plumbing and electrical. And you are legally not required to pay an individual who is contracting without a license. Contact your local attorney general to file a criminal complaint over fraudulent representation. Agree with the above. I love the china cabinets, but doing the upper part for “pretty” storage is probably enough real estate to alot to formal dishes...and I never have enough flat surfaces in my home, especially for the kitchen. You will appreciate the counter when using the cabinets, too.
