I agree. Daisies love sun and the more the better. In fact I just moved a bunch of "Becky" to another part of my garden over the weekend. I always move plants in the summer - if I waited until fall I'd never make room for anything else. That goes against most gardening advice, and it's a little more work, but I have pretty good success as long as it's not going to be obscenely hot or dry for a long period of time. Keep your eye on the weather forecasts and try to time it just before a rainy period. When you dig your new hole and put in the plant, fill it with water before you pile more dirt on top. That helps keep the roots moist. You have to be sure to keep them well watered (that means every day) until they start to perk up. And tie them up if they start to droop. I've got so many daisies I'm willing to take the risk. But if you're not, then wait until the weather cools a bit.

Josephine, my Maytag (Bravo X, 700XL2) knows what to do with wet clothes. I use the rinse and spin cycle on DH's jeans most weeks, he can really get muddy. When that cycle is over (20 min) and the rinse water has spun out, I wash them using the 'bulky' setting with deeper water or it may not get residual mud from the inside of the pants legs bottoms. I would not put partially washed clothes dirty into my dryer to only have to clean the dryer. I freely admit he can get much dirtier than average laundry. (I've insisted he stand in the garage and strip more than once. No sympathy from me when he tells me he's worked all day and he's tired, he is not coming inside like that ;)) He's hiking off trail 4 days a week for his work in all kinds of weather through all kinds of terrain. Going through beaver ponds and falling off logs. My issue isn't dirty clothes not coming clean like I said above, it's only the amount of time laundry takes. We were at his sisters weekend house a while back and I put a load of towels in the older Maytag there, got to listen to the familiar sounds of laundry, big grin on my face. And 25 minutes later I was putting the washed things into the dryer, it was the first time laundry has been fun in a few years.

Yes, raised in the middle makes a crown. How much, is your call. You asked about the shape. I like to think of the shape of a lawn as if it were water. A pond in your case. Being fluid really helps with giving the lawn 'flow' and 'presence'. Everybody worries about the shape of a tree or rock, but usually don't give much thought to the shape of the lawn except to cover as much space as possible. Then they cutout flower beds and they end up looking like cutouts. The shape of the lawn is more important than the shape of the flower beds. I hope that helps. I haven't been in downtown Seattle in 5 or 6 years. I used to live within walking distance of the market. I'm sort of an old hermit in the country now. Neither of those is really a good choice but if that is all the choice you have use the least expensive. What is your base soil? Putting a soil mix that drains very well on a clay base that does not can present problems not easily cure. As you have indicated the 50/50 soil/compost mix will shrink as the Soil Food Web digests that compost and your level lawn will no longer be level. A good soil will have about 5 to 8 percent organic matter in it which might be what that screened "topsoil" may have. Keep in miond that "topsoil" is quite simply the top 4 to 12 inches of soi from someplace and it might be something worth the price or it may not be worth anything.
