Difficulty Finding Dress Pants for Work
Comments (8)Yes we have Kohl's too! I wear the petite sizes and I tried looking there too. I will have to wait a few weeks and try again. When I went last time they only had the three-quarter length pants, clam digger style for Spring/Summer and those aren't appropriate for work. I do love the dresses there! I am wearing Briggs NY pants right now, they are perfect and I might have found them at Kohl's but years ago. I have heard of Apt. 9. I am hoping they get some nice colors in for Spring other than black and brown. Thank you! I might be trying Sears or JC Penny next......See MoreExpressing your style in a business suit
Comments (58)Thanks! I aesm not sure I would call them youthful.. but they are not as buttoned up as some of my other suit jackets. I think that can give them a little youthful spirit. Also, their styling is youthful-- and kind of ridiculous now that I know the fabric content. Daisy, I am sorry. My laptop (which was my backup after my primary failed) crapped out yesterday so I don't have access to any of my links or shopping carts (because my cookies are gone!). They were both from Nordstrom. The ivory one is plus size and seems to run pretty true to size. I am wearing mine a little big. One word of warning. I don't think either of these are GREAT for summer. They are both poly blends and the patterned jacket is rather thick (the ivory jacket is a great weight for summer but it's still a synthetic). I struggle with summer jackets. I like linen but linen jackets look terrible at the end of the day.. I have a silk tweed that works nicely but I haven't seen anything else in silk....See MoreIn search of pants which fit
Comments (26)You are definitely not alone! I am 5'2" and jeans shopping is something I dread :^( My waist is apparently small for my hips and finding a pair that fit both is nigh on impossible. Obviously the larger hips are the default. I'm a fan of the belt these days. It's not ideal, but it does work. In thinking about it, most of the jeans that I own and wear at the moment are from Walmart. The biggest problem I've found is finding ones that are in heavy enough fabric- so many "jeans look" pants that are just so thin they don't work for me. If you have a Levi's outlet anywhere near you, they generally have a huge selection in different styles, which might make it easier to find some that feel like they actually fit well....See MoreElastic waist pants-love em or hate em?
Comments (32)I always assumed that 'skinny jeans' would feel uncomfortably binding or hot, because they do cling to one's body. But oddly enough, the small percentage of spandex blended into the the cotton, gives them a snug fit, but yet a comfy, weightless feeling, like wearing tights or leggings. I love these inexpensive pull on jeans from Old Navy. They are 97% cotton and 3% spandex, so they have a bit of give, which is very comfortable when bending your knees. Worn tucked into riding boots or ankle boots, they look very nice. They don't have any tell tale elastic band at the waist, but the cotton/spandex blend allows them to stay put, just as though they did. It's a pleasure to wear stylish pants that don't require a button, belt or zipper, because my tunic sweaters (just long enough to cover my behind) lie perfectly flat over the pants, with no zipper or belt digging into my waist. https://oldnavy.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?pid=287613003&vid=3&tid=ocpl000004&kwid=1&ap=7&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvde_jcqe7QIVBfHACh1o3ACZEAQYFiABEgJy2fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content...See MoreFori
