orange oak trim and banisters, what furniture wood should I use?
Comments (0)I have an orange oak trim around windows, floorboards, stair banisters. Kitchen has white cupboards but trim is oak. My walls are metropolis and revere pewter and floor is a combination of brown and grey. I need a coffee table and end tables...what colour should I use?? I've looked at the graige but unsure if it's too light. Ideas?...See MoreWhat trim color should I use on my house?
Comments (10)Here are a couple of ideas. Make all the front windows the same. Entry door seems really tall -- make the same height as the windows and add row of vertical brick above. I added sidelights as the door seems lonely. Make columns larger. Added full returns (circled in red on 2nd image) below gables with siding. If not, then a larger band of trim. I would not use a different siding on the dormer. You have chosen a mix of styles with a more formal brick and steeply pitched roof with short overhangs, but then adding the stained decorative truss and columns, and shakes on the dormer. I'll suggest not trying to mix in "craftsman" or farmhouse, and stay with the more traditional....See MoreWhat size molding should be used to trim, doorway, baseboards, windows
Comments (3)Are you asking about trim for the dining room or throughout the house? If you are specifically asking about the dining room, do you think you'll ever add wainscoting? We just added wainscoting to our dinign room and had to replace all of the door and window trim for this reason....See MoreWhat colors should I use for gutters, trim, doors?
Comments (3)Medium gray roof, remove the shutters on the front. The right shade of taupe sounds like a good idea if you don't like the idea of green. Since the roof is urgent, deal with that and then start sampling colors for the siding. BM has a lot of good colors for exteriors in their Historical Colors. Don't commit to a color until you have looked at a large scale sample on all sides of the house (you can always paint a board and move it around) during various times of day and weather conditions. Too many people have their whole house painted and don't end up liking the color. Paint the garage door the same color as the siding - white is not doing your house any favors. Your front door could be black....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
