Is this a private residence or condo? Can the windows be changed? If so, I would suggest that instead of just trying to hide the differences with window coverings.

What if you put a piece of furniture in front of the full length window and dress both with curtains that fit the smaller window?

IMO the top floor probably does not need much and the rad keeps you from doing a wal of drapes to the floor so IMO some nice solar shades if light and heat are issues and combine those with roman shades if privacy is an issue.

If you can do without the natural light from the small long window, I would think about blocking it off so light doesn't seep thru and hanging some art or a mirror over it. That would eliminate that problem. Then a shade or some other window covering over the short window above the radiator (perhaps a ceiling mount rod?) & leave the door sized window naked?

The need to control heat gain/ heat loss/ glare not known but factors that will impact your final solution.

I would have a valance made that bridges both of the big windows, end to end, to cover up the slight discrepancy in height. Then I would have two matching blinds constructed, one for the tall window reaching to the floor, and one made for the other window, to the sill. Depending on the angle of light, privacy issues, I would do an identical blind, inset, into the wide narrow window. I would go with a neutral fabric/synthetic that blends with your wall color. Nothing that will call attention to itself.

I think it is important to create a sense of visual balance and harmony. One way to do this is to hang curtains at the same height regardless of the window's height or size. Alternatively, you can add a valance at the top This can help create a uniform look and make the indoor curtains look more finished.

Someone suggested covering the small window with art. I think I might cover the bottom half of the full size window with a bookshelf/credenza to make it not so odd. Oh hey it would be a great place for a plant stand that holds pots. Maybe with enough leaves you would have privacy? Roman shade would be pretty for the window over the radiator, but take up a ton of your views, if there is even enough room to hang one above the window.

You're evaluating the windows with nothing in the room. I wouldn't block a single window but take advantage of them! My gosh, most people would love to have so much light coming in. Do you need window treatments at all for privacy? Do you have a view? Do you have photos of the room from other angles so people can advise on furniture placement? If so, please post those photos.

--If you need window coverings for privacy, then Install solar shades on the long window and the one next to it since you can't really hang long curtains in front of what looks like a heater on the right wall.

--Turn the far wall into a reading/relaxing space with a chaise in front of the full-length window.

--Add a bookshelf below the small, wide window and put live plants on top or sculptures backlit by the light coming in.

Please don't block those windows with anything but the most minimal window coverings and let there be light!

I need window coverings for privacy mostly of an evening people can see in especially with a light on in the evening!

It’s south facing so I don’t want to block any windows up as I love how light and airy it is! However in the height of summer I need something to cover the windows so the room doesn’t get too hot!

Light filtering shades that roll into a case on top are usually affordable and would give you privacy at night. They can be plain or cellular. Many come in patterns that would look attractive at nighttime. If you put plants or art pieces on a cabinet or shelf below the wide skinny window, that would give you privacy as well.

I think I would put a valance or cornice over the the two windows to join them up and make them even at the top. Then just roller blinds or slat blinds if you need to control the light. I like a lot of the ideas people have posted. I would also make it a plant or reading corner.

I'm in love with that full corner window.
