Are pictures too large?

I have the opportunity to purchase a set of two complimentary pictures, 35x35 inch each. I would like to hang both side by side but wonder if this would be too much for the room? I have 9 foot ceilings. It is a sunken livingroom. Thank you! The sofa is 86 inches long

I think it would be right. You can use painters tape to make a border and see.

Stand back and get a wider angle picture. It seems they may be a bit too large, or maybe the frame is too beefy, and out of proportion with your lamps.

here's one way: right-click (on the image), then "copy" right-click, "paste" (in the document, so first put the cursor on the line you want it) after the image appears, click it once, then right-click it, then "size, or sizing" in the menu, and use that dialog box to make changes. (It's easier than reading this.)

If you post it using the Houzz photo icon, it will resize the photo to the appropriate size. Just go into 'Your Houzz' (upper right corner) and click on upload photos. As long as your photo is on your computer or device, it will walk you through the rest of it.

The pictures look great and your lamps are just fine. The color of the lamp bases add a layer of interest that will be lost with neutral colored bases.

I think the art is fine in size, the only thing I would offer is between the art, end tables, pillows,and lamps ....it's a bit matchy-matchy,

Also, sofa needs to have front feet on area rug

Not sure what you mean Gizmo. I intend to change the pillows and lamps once I get the pictures up. Some have suggested black lamp bases. I am thinking maybe clay colour with black shades.
