I would put shelves along the back wall for out of season storage. I would then have a rolling drawer/small dresser for in front of those part of those shelves. Drawers would be really hard to see into at 30". You will also be banging your head on the sloped ceiling. 50" isn't all that deep yet you will have to use space to step into the closet, so by having shelves you don't need to get into, you will bring the clothing you need to reach forward. I would also divide the space into at least a third with some type of wall so that you could put up double poles for hanging. Leave the one third part for long items. This closet is around 12" wide. That's a lot of space. What you decide for doors will factor into how to organze the items inside. Sliding doors seems to be about the only thing which would allow you to utilize the space without losing too much for walking. At 12 feet you could actually do two closets. One for hanging only and the other side for walking into with all of the drawers and shelves in a U shape. We have two storage areas with this type of configuration going down to 36". They are not practical for daily storage and getting in and out of. It works for our purposes, but I've wacked my head pretty hard a couple of times. My craft room has two sloped ceilings, but the back walls are 4.5 feet. Much better. Gloria

Is the door opening 65" or the closet interior, wall to wall 65"? If you can scootch one appliance over enough to then get the other one out, then It would probably work. You have to have enough depth. My closets aren't deep enough for a washer dryer set. take some graph paper and draw out a plan to scale and include the w/d set specs in the drawing, then you will know. If you have the depth, but not the width, you could always stack them. I have mine stacked in my bathroom and love it. I have another set in the basement side by side in the open, that works well too. If you stacked you could avoid the bifold doors, and have shelving on either side of the stack, along with a folding space, and possible hanging space.

You would need at least 55” I’d think. And that’s without the doors. I tried to do something similar and had to give it up because I didn’t have the space for the w/d I was planning to buy. I’d go to an appliance store with a tape measure and open the doors on some side by side units to be sure.

sheloveslayouts has the best solution. you have a great space. I think the cabinet companies idea is terrible, they sell cabinets are not great at design. I would never stack a washer/dryer or remove a window unless there was no other way. I had stacking once, much prefer the flat top that side buy side give you and hate having to turn on a light every time I use a room without a window. All these pictures came from a houzz laundry photos search and even though they all show front load you can have the same with top load without placing a countertop and giving yourself enough room to fully open the door when placing shelving or cabinets. the first 2 are just more pictures of her suggestion. the 3rd is a cabinet that you could place directly opposite your door next to the window if you need tall storage. 5th is rolling laundry sorter that could be placed in that same spot. I have one without the top shelf and hanging bar and love it. I sort lights, darks and colors or towels. 4th gives you another option without hanging rod. and last is an option for stacking if you really want to that gives you storage without taking up the whole room.
