And what are you planning to put on the shelves. I rarely like open shelving except above a coffee bar sometimes . Yes we need to see the whole kitchen please.

True, don’t want too busy. Maybe some glassware, possibly some white platters, if can get shelving sturdy enough

I think you could place a large piece of art at that location. If you decide to place art there, you should probably remove the small art piece above the range. I wonder if it would be possible to lower the outlets, as the cords are very distracting. One of the reasons why I don't think the shelf idea works well is because your deep window (which is very nice btw) is already a shelf. Adding more shelves will be redundant. I feel like the range needs a short stainless steel backsplash to bridge the gap between the existing two sections of backsplash.

Open shelving can work for dish storage but doesn't work well for storing cooking ingredients unless you can store in attractive containers that can sit on shelving. The photo below is to illustrate the concept - not the actual shelving for you to use.

It appears you have deep angled walls making it difficult to reach cabinets or shelving. Do you have room to add a modest island with narrow and deep drawers, not open underneath, for more storage? This would also give you more counter space to work on. add interesting artwork on the blank walls. Rethink how you store your cooking utensils, and other small items. If you do have an opportunity to make changes aon the wall by toaster, etc., have outlets placed lower.

It does not appear that you have an exhaust fan/hood to vent when cooking so any type of open shelving in that space will become a grease magnet. I would take a door from your cabinets to a local cabinet place and have closed cabinets made to compliment existing cabinetry.

Cute start but functionally if it were my space I’d really need a hood above the range. That means probably repositioning your sconces to over the windows….Maureen gave some good options for the wall in question but proportionally you’d need to work that out once the hood issue was solved.

Totally-house was a flip and we recently moved in, some interesting choices I might not have made if it were me doing. Oh well 😊

FWIW I had open shelving in a tiny cottage kitchen many years ago (mine were from Ballard Design) - they were helpful for everyday items (plates, glasses etc) bc the space was TINY… but I frequently rinsed items bc they seemed dusty (even if they had just done from the DW to the shelf the night before) - I wouldn’t do them again
