What kind of chairs?

We recently renovated our kitchen. Sadly, I dont think my kitchen table fits anymore. I really didnt want to get rid of it bc it was my grandfather’s and it is very sentimental. Im wondering if I could keep table and update chairs? I found some options from the same company I got our island stools. There are also chairs that match the stools available but we dont want it to have cafeteria/restaurant feel. can it be done or do i need a new table too?

When you say the chairs should be as low to the floor as the sectional, do you mean the chair should go all the way down to the floor or do you mean the back shouldn't be any higher than the sectional?...See Morewhat kind of chairs should I get here?
Comments (10)Thx all-- we were going to build a banquet-- originally there was more cabinetry there, and we pulled it out as it was just overkill and not needed. We decided to hold off on the banquet in case we hated it. We just moved in and wanted to live the space first. My kids are not that young (8 and 11), but are slobs with greasy finger prints everywhere and occasional spills, so something that I am not going to be stressed about is best. Comments (15)Decoenthusiaste: I wish I had a second. It was an antique French chair that I bought off an auction online and had it shipped. I love it but only issue is that musty smell! I agree it would have been amazing! Anne: I am indeed starting to think of a round back to flow with the other chairs! CDR Design: of course you can :-). “Crowded” was really my worry when I bought the set for the sunroom. The previous owners only had a loveseat where I have the sofa and that was it. When the set arrived, I tried all possible configuration and this seemed the best without obstructing access to the door to the patio, the door to the family room, and the door to the kitchen dining. This mighty room is all French doors but has become our favorite. I had that blue chair already and I use it for extra seating. As for the little antique chair, poor lil thing has no where else to go :-) The table is 31” high, I am thinking a 19” at least? Jinx, I came across that same chair and was almost gonna buy them last night. I noted the height was less than 18”. Might that be too low for the 31” table? Thank you all for looking into this, it been a riddle and I have been driving myself crazy trying to find the perfect chairs. Restaining it darker might work even better and head towards modern chairs.

I do not like stools and chairs to match it is boring for sure IMO have a bit of fun and add some color to that space . Why the space at the top of the cabinets ?
